What is changing?
Instead of managing content in one section of the platform and courses in another, all content is now managed directly within its assigned course. You’ll also see everything you need for course management (learners, reporting, assignments) on one easy to use page. We've also updated the look and feel of our side navigation bar.
Why did we change it?
We’ve consistently heard feedback from new and veteran users alike that navigating between our older Course and Create pages was both confusing and added unnecessary work . This update will make it quicker and easier to create assignments and courses, whether it’s your first time using Cerego or you’re an experienced content creator
Will anything change for my learners?
Learners will have access to the updated navigation bar on the left side of their screen, albeit with a limited number of available options. Their actual learning experience has not been changed.
Will I lose any data?
No! All your learner and content data is still there, it’s just packaged in a more intuitive way.
Where is my content?
All content now lives in Courses. If your content had previously been assigned to a course, you’ll find it there. If you had content that hadn’t been assigned to a course yet, we’ve created a new course called Migrated Content for you.
Can I still assign the same content to multiple courses?
Of course! While newly created assignments will all originate from a specific course, we’ve added a more intuitive sharing setting on assignments that will determine whether the assignment can be searched and added to additional courses. When adding shared assignments to a course, you will now have the ability to either create a hard copy or to mirror any changes made to any version of the assignment across any course it has been added to.
Where can I find the LTI url to embed Cerego content into my LMS?
The LTI url has been moved from the details page for a particular set, into a unified assignment details page that can be accessed for any assignment within a course. This page can be accessed within any course by clicking on the assignment title.
Please note that in order for the LTI url to be visible, the assignment must be shared using the updated assignment sharing settings outlined above.
The current process for provisioning courses through the LTI url involves the automatic creation of a new course. Now that assignments will exist in a course, will this workflow be changing?
Prior to the consolidation of assignments and courses, utilizing an LTI url to launch an assignment via an LMS would result in a new course being created in Cerego based on parameters set in the LMS.
This process will remain the same once the upcoming changes roll out. Launching an assignment via LTI in your LMS will result in a new course being created in Cerego, with the proper assignments available on the course.
Where can I view my Course Analytics?
We will be rolling that into the Course Management experience in an upcoming update. For now, you can find the Legacy Analytics at the bottom of the Assignment Details page for any individual assignment.
Where can I view my Course Reports?
Course progress reports are still available for each assignment. Simply click on the assignment from within the course menu to access reports. If you’d like to see the Content Insights report, you can find a link at the bottom of the Course Details page.
