Activation - High-level equivalent to how easily a user is able to recall a particular facet.
Anchor - The word to be studied in an association collection
Association - A definition or example of the anchor in an association collection.
Association Collection - Template type for a one-to-many item.

Cloze Container - Template type for a passage
Cloze Node - Node type that contains text as part of a passage item
Concept - The core expression of something. Must contain at least one of text, image, or sound.
Content API - API for interacting with content hosted by Cerego
Content Flagging - Allows users to report inaccurate content or problems with the learn app

Distractor - A Concept when used in the context of a quiz, for instance, as an incorrect answer in a multiple choice quiz.

Facet - Atomic unit of "things to be learned" (see Concept)
Fading Memory - A memory that a user has learned but is in the process of forgetting

Goal - A target for a student in a particular set or series. Allows teachers to grade students by how far along their students’ memories are towards that particular level or permanence.
Group - A collection of users and sets/series corresponding to a class

Image Map - Template type that contains regions
Item - A container for facets. It owns a template, which determines the type of item.
Item Template - Information on the types of relationships in an item. There are several types of templates: Association, Vocabulary, Passage, Sequence, Pattern

Learn App - The quizzing portion of the Cerego website/app
Learning Engine API - API for interacting with memory estimates for Cerego or 3rd-party content
Level - A range of permanence for a memory or group of memories. The higher the level, the longer a user can recall a memory
Library - Sets and series in the memory bank
LTI - A standard to allow learning systems to connect with each other. Cerego uses LTI to embed the learn app for students
M
Memory - Small unit of knowledge, like a word, fact, image, or song. Same as facet
Memory Estimate - Record storing information about how well a user knows a facet.
Memory Bank - A visual representation of what you know and how well you know it at a point in time. Can be viewed at a set-by-set/series-by-series or show memory-by-memory level information.
N
Node - Information on how to make something quizzable. Concepts are a type of Node.
Note - Supplementary information on an item or facet

OAuth Client - Contains keys and identifiers to allow Cerego to communicate with other platforms through LTI

Passage - Template type that contains texts within a larger section of text
Pattern - Template type that contains multiple examples of a certain anchor. Examples can be sound, image, or text.
Permanence - High-level equivalent to how long a user will be able to recall a particular facet.
Presentation - Record indicating how a user performed after a showing or quiz on a facet.
Preview Mode - Simulates the learn app from the item editor for a particular item
Privacy - Security settings for viewing your set or series
Private - only you can view
Public - everyone can view
Private Groups - anyone in the set’s group(s) can view

Region - Area or dot on an image to represent the facet/memory to be learned
Report - Information on student memories for a particular group

Progress to Goal: Percentage towards a particular level.
Progress over Time: Show starting and cumulative progress by level over a
particular range of dates

Sequence Node - Position information about a component of a sequence.
Series - A group of related Sets. Think of series as a playlist for sets. Students learn new items in order, and can review fading concepts across all the sets as they study the series
Set - A group of related content, analogous to a chapter in a textbook. Ideal set size is 20-40 items of roughly the same difficulty. Think of a set as a study module that covers a narrow scope of content, such as a chapter or section from a book.
Smart Module - Either a Set of a Series.
Study Session - A collection of presentations across multiple facets and items.

Vocabulary - Template type that contains a study word and its definition, along with language and part of speech information.
